New mural will portray Mark Twain and Jane Lampton Clemens From Trey Stephens City of Columbia | Assistant to the Mayor Tezon Mitchell, an art major at Lindsey Wilson University, will soon begin work on a new mural in downtown Columbia. The mural will portray Mark Twain and his mother, Jane Lampton Clemens, who was born and raised in Columbia. The mural will be on the side of the Sweat Pea's Building at the corner of South Reed Street and Jamestown Street. The Ross family has generously sponsored the mural.
