Congratulations to new Doctor of Veterinary Medicine From Kim Harwood, Executive Director, Edmonton Metcalfe Chamber of Commerce Shawna Lynn Edwards, Metcalfe County High School graduate of 2019 and former south paw Lady Hornet basketball player, went on to attend Murray State University 2019-2022 and then started her dream by being accepted into the Veterinary Science program in the fall of 2022 at Auburn University in Alabama. After four years of demanding work and long hours Shawna graduated from Auburn University as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Cum Laude Monday, May 4th, 2026, to officially become Shawna Edwards, DVM. Shawna is the daughter of Patricia Wilson and Shawn Edwards. In Shawna's on words she stated "Auburn has given me so much more than an education. It has shaped me, challenged me, and helped me grow into the person I am today. Along the way, I found friendships that turned into family. People who stood beside me through the late nights, the stress, the laughter, and the unforgettable moments that made this experience so special. While this chapter has come to an end, I know the best is still ahead. I'm so excited to return home and step into this next journey as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Congratulations to the class of 2026 and War Eagle always." Shauna's family and the Edmonton-Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize her and all our former and current MCHS Graduates as they leave their footprints through Metcalfe County.
