Fifth Annual Duck Derby featured nearly 200 ducks

From Trey Stephens
City of Columbia | Assistant to the Mayor

Over the weekend, the City of Columbia hosted our fifth annual Duck Derby. The event saw 198 rubber ducks race down Russell Creek to win prizes for their respective owners. This was our largest Duck Derby in several years, both in total number of ducks and in prizes given out. The event raised significant funds which will be reinvested in the City's Trail Town kayak launches.

The 2026 Duck Derby Winners are:
  • Sharron Payne
  • Jordan Lee
  • Sophia Ross
  • Troy Kimbler
  • Lindsay Stephens
  • Terry Moore
  • David Campbell
  • Veronica Ayala
  • Noraly Bruns
  • Harold Burton
  • Kim Montgomery
  • Peg Shaffer
  • Tammy Crew
We would like to congratulate all our winners and once again thank everyone who helped make this event possible. A special thank you goes out to Lance Burton, Paul & Cathy Abell, and the Demolay group, all of whom worked together to make the event possible as well as everyone who donated prizes: TJ Sampson, Walmart, Sweet Pea's, First and Farmer's, Community Trust, Jeffries Hardware, Adanta, Lindsey Wilson University, Lake Cumberland Health Department.
