Bridge replacement projects to begin on KY90 in Cumberland Co. From Amber Hale The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that two bridge replacement projects are scheduled to begin on May 1, 2026, on KY 90 in Cumberland County. The projects will replace the aging bridges at Allen Creek and Dutch Creek along KY 90 with new structures that will provide safer and smoother travel well into the future. Work will begin on May 1 at Allen Creek (mile point 9.49), where crews will install a temporary one-lane diversion. During construction, traffic will be reduced to a single lane with alternating flow controlled by temporary traffic signals. Beginning next week, crews will start earthwork at Dutch Creek (mile point 8.24). Motorists traveling through this area should expect intermittent stoppages or one-lane traffic at times, with traffic controlled by flaggers. Both projects are scheduled for completion by November 30, 2026. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen delays. Motorists are urged to use caution, reduce speed, and expect delays when traveling through the work zone.
