Letter: Easy way to track hummingbird migration Comments re: Time to hang the hummingbird feeders By Gene Burton I have had my feeders out for almost a week. I use the website hummingbirdcentral.com to track the migration. I noticed a big movement in late March coming out of the south. However, I have not seen any yet per the weblink I provided. If you open it and scroll to the 2026 migration map, you can see the date someone reported a sighting. Locally, there have been reports of Breeding, Elk Horn, Russell Springs and Edmonton. All were repoted in very recent times. In 2025, I reported on 4/4/25. Although I have no birds yet, the feeders are out and ready. Typically, all I have is migrators this early in the season. My "resident" birds are typically here late April to early May, but I still feed the migrators moving through. This story was posted on 2026-04-05 22:37:55
