Peggy M. Jessee, 82, Columbia, KY (1943-2026)

Peggy M. Jessee of Columbia passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. She was 82 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jody Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday from 4pmCT 8pmCT, and will continue on Saturday until funeral time at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.


Born on October 29, 1943, in Louisville, KY, Peggy lived a full and vibrant life marked by her generous spirit and deep devotion to her family and community.

Peggy was well-loved for her warm personality and her joy in simple pleasures. She cherished attending gospel singings, boating, and fishing, activities through which she found great happiness and relaxation. More than anything else, she treasured spending time with her loving family and close friends, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Wayne Jessee; their beloved son, Tony Jessee, and his wife Cindy of Louisville, KY. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Christina Duchene and her husband Travis, Ryan Jessee and his wife Jordan, as well as Madison Jessee and Morgan Jessee. Peggy was also a proud great-grandmother to Emory and Bryce Duchene and Liam Jessee.

Peggy's wide circle of family included her siblings: Carol Rogers and her husband Wayne; Brother Don Taylor and his wife Stacy; Gayle Fudge and her husband Larry; Jennie Pennington and her husband David; Kathy Norris and her husband Kevin; Janet McInteer and her husband Joe; Carmella McDonald and her husband Greg; Pam Flowers and her husband Wayne; and Steve Taylor and his wife Debbie. She was also lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Linda Taylor, brother-in-law J.D. Janes, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Huston and Laura Juanita Gray Taylor, and four siblings: Gary Wayne Taylor, Bonnie Janes, Mitchell Taylor, and Billy Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Jessee, Chris Hafling, Matthew Hafling, Darren Taylor, Bobby Norris, and Hunter Flowers.

Peggy M. Jessee's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her, as a woman of faith, love, and kindness. Her legacy of family devotion and joyful spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
