Odell Bennett, 87, Edmonton, KY (1938-2026) Odell Bennett of Edmonton passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Metcalfe County Health Care. He was 87 years old. Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. Burial will follow in the Morris Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday after 10amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Born on December 11, 1938, Odell lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a deep love for his family and community. A lifelong farmer, Odell devoted himself to the land, embodying the true spirit of rural life. He was not only committed to his work but also cherished his hobbies, including coon hunting, which brought him much joy and relaxation. In addition to farming and his outdoor pursuits, Odell valued the time spent with his family and friends, creating lasting memories that will be treasured. Odell is survived by his brother Walton Bennett; sister Ovalee Finn; brother-in-law Clifton Curry and his wife Phyllis; sisters-in-law Nell Curry and Imogene Curry; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Oakley Coomer Bennett; his wife Nona Bess Curry Bennett; a brother Justin Bennett; and a sister Ruby Jessie, all of whom he cherished and remembered fondly. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Morris Chapel Cemetery and can be left at the funeral home. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
