Jaxson Tate Akin, 9, Glens Fork, KY (2016-2026)

Jaxson Tate Akin of the Glens Fork community was born June 30, 2016, in Campbellsville, Kentucky and passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 9 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Egypt Christian Church, 4867 Knifley Road, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Paul Patton and Bro. Joel Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 3pmCT on Thursday, and will continue on Friday from 6amCT until 9amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, and then from 10amCT until time for the service at Egypt Christian Church.


Tate was a member of Egypt Christian Church and a fourth grader at Adair County Elementary School.

Survivors include:
  • His parents - Nathan and Jackylin Durham Akin of Glens Fork
  • His brother - Konner Akin of Glens Fork
  • His grandparents - Sherry Rogers of Columbia, Bruce Akin of Campbellsville and Troy Harris of Columbia
  • His great-grandmother - Juanita Brown of New York
  • Three uncles - Josh Akin of Campbellsville, Jordan Durham and Marc Carroll both of Columbia
  • His cousin, Kaitlyn Akin, along with several other cousins, relatives and friends
Tate was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jackie Durham and Cindy Harris and an uncle, Seth Akin.
