ACSO: Public help needed in theft investigation

On February 17, 2026, Deputy Derek Padgett obtained a search warrant for a residence on Oak Grove Road. During the execution of the search warrant, numerous stolen items from 101 and 103 Dillon Street were recovered. During the investigation, a suspect was identified, and on February 24, 2026, Deputy Derek Padgett obtained an Adair County felony warrant of arrest for Benjamin L. Harmon, 38, of Columbia.

The Adair County Sheriff's Office would like the public's help locating him. Harmon is white, approximately 5'5", 180 pounds, with dark brown hair, hazel eyes, and may have a beard. If anyone knows of the whereabouts of Benjamin (Ben) Harmon, please call the Adair County Sheriff's Office or Adair County 911 Center. Tips can remain anonymous.

In addition, although numerous items of reported stolen property have been recovered, there is still unrecovered reported stolen property. Sheriff Gary Roy is asking the public's assistance in an effort to try and locate the following items:
  • New in the box AO Smith, Signature 900, 50 gallon hot water heater. It has wifi iCOMM Smart Connectivity.
  • New in the box Sceptre 4K 65" TV
  • Canon EOS 60D camera and kit
  • Antique John Deere Peddle Tractor with wagon
It is believed these items have already been sold. If anyone has purchased or traded for any of these items from anyone recently, please contact The Adair County Sheriff's Office or The Adair County 911 Center by calling 270-384-6464.
