Columbia/Adair County Firemen have busy Tuesday, April 4, 2006

Two fires.Firemen are able to contain blaze at Dr. Herrera's office, with only moderate damage. Fire on Oak Grove Road contained to garage
The Columbia Adair County Fire Department responded to two fires on Tuesday, April 4, 2006.


At 11:30 a.m., the department responded to a fire at the Dr. Herrera building, located off Grant Lane. At 1:15 p.m., the call was to a garage fire.

Upon arrival at the Dr. Herrera office building, on Grant Lane off Campbellsville Road, firemen located the fire around the heating and cooling unit in the attic.

The fire was contained to that area and the building suffered moderate damage.

Ten firemen responded and were on the scene approximately one hour, 15 minutes.

Fire contained to garage on Oak Grove Road

When firemen arrived at the garage fire on Oak Grove Road, they were able to contain it to the garage, which itself was a total loss.

Six firemen responded and were on the scene for approximately one hour.
