2026 Historic Pictures Calendar from Genealogical Society

From Mike Watson

The Adair County Genealogical Society is offering its 2026 Historic Pictures Calendar. Primarily showcasing general and country stores around the county, it also includes images featuring other notable locations, such as the Circle R and some local post offices.

The calendar is available for $15 at the Adair County Genealogy & History Research Center, and calendars can also be mailed, for an additional postage fee of $5, which closely matches the actual shipping cost.

The Adair County Genealogy & History Research Center is located at 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. For more information, email adairgenealogy@gmail.com or call 270.380.1024.

Donnie's Drive In, ca 1957

Donnie's Drive In opened in October 1957 at the corner of Highway 55 South and Tutt Street in Columbia, according to an ad in Adair County News. The site would later be the home of Jim Dandy, Harold's Steak House, and now Speedway.
