Sandra J. Smith, 77, Columbia, KY native (1948-2025)

Sandra Jeanette (Grant) Smith of Georgetown passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at her residence. She was 77 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Paul Patton officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday after 10amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.


She was born on June 18, 1948, in Columbia, KY to the late Ulysses S. and Mary Bryant Grant. She was preceded in death by her first husband Lannie Cockerham and second husband John Smith.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Northside Christian Church in Georgetown, Ky and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her three children Michael Cockerham (Theresa) of Richmond, KY, Tracy Stamper (Brian) of Winchester, KY, and Melissa Gibson (Keith) of Georgetown, KY; fourteen grandchildren Ashton Stotts, Cody Stotts (Hailey), Victoria Stamper, Brinn Stamper, Emma Stamper, Hannah Harpe (Carrington), Grant Cockerham (Lauren), Emma Cockerham, Piper Peters (Tyler), Charlie Lynn (Makenzie), Gracie Gibson, Lanie Gibson, Carter Gibson, and Chloe Gibson; eight great grandchildren Heidi Stotts, Vivian and Violet Harpe, Forest, Owsley, and Reece Peters, and Hayze and Hadley Lynn; four siblings Judy Watson (James), Betty Smith, Rebecca Melton, and Richard Grant (Sharon). Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by five siblings Carlie, Sidney, Hershel, and Danny Grant and Bernice Goodin.
