Kitty Joyce Sparks, 88, Cumberland County, KY

Kitty Joyce (McCool) Sparks of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky having attained the age of 88 years, 10 months, and 21 days. She was born on Saturday, January 2, 1937, in Burkesville, Kentucky, the daughter of Curtis Vincent & Ora Helen (Baker) McCool.

She was of the Christian Faith, a member of Jones Chapel Methodist Church, and worked as a seamstress at Bob Evans. She also worked as a waitress at the Alpine Restaurant in her later years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence "Larry" Wayne Sparks, siblings, James Sheldon McCool, Wyndle Dale McCool, Elwood McCool, Weldon Baker "Buddy" McCool, Leon Jones McCool, and Bernal David McCool.

She is survived by her siblings, Doris Helen (McCool) (& Jimmie) Neathery, Mary Ann McCool, both of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Earl Cary McCool of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Johnny Glenn McCool; sisters-in-law, Jeanetta (Melton) McCool of Glasgow, Kentucky, Dorothy "Dot" (Blankenship) McCool of Burkesville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Kassie LeeAnn (Sparks) (& Allen) Sewell, Katlyn Lynette (Sparks) (& Kurtis) Claywell, both of Burkesville, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Jaxin Briley Sewell, Kynlee Addisyn Sewell, Avery Kate Sewell, Kamryn Claire Claywell, Kora Hope Claywell, special cousin, Joel Baker, special friend, Harold Frazier, and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 11amCT in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Casket Bearers were Hoy Spears, Allen Sewell, Kurtis Claywell, Gary McCool, Joel Baker, and Robert Neathery. Burial was in the Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky.
