Adair Relay for Life 2006 marks tenth year for this special event

"...Lace up those shoes and come out and help support the American Cancer Soceity -- Help us fine a cure!"

The Adair County Relay for Life 2006 event will be held on June 9 and 10 from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. at the Adair County High School Booster field. This year's theme is "Academy Awards", and a candlelight ceremony will be held at 9:30 p.m. on Friday to honor those individuals who have survived cancer and to memoriallize those who have lost their lives to cancer. INFORMATION AND UPCOMING EVENTS:

LUMINARIES ARE BEING SOLD, starting now. Simply fill out a luminary form and make your check (for $5 each) payable to the American Cancer Society.

Contact Barbara Shepherd for more information at 270-384-5163 or Peggy Lawson at 270-384-4501. Contributions must be received no later than May 15, 2006 to be printed in our program the night of the Relay.

Anyone interested in providing a picture of a loved one or friend that you purchased a luminary for, please submit your picture with the following information: In Memory Of or In Honor Of, Name, Date of Birth, Date of Death, Type of Cancer.

Pictures and information can be given to Ellen Zornes or Angela Dean. For more information regarding the pictures please contact Angela Dean at 270-384-4343.

SURVIVORSHIP REGISTRATION BEGINS MAY FIRST. All survivors may begin registering at this time. Just fill out your registration and contact Sue Stivers for more information. We want to honor you the night of the relat and celebrate your life.

A COMMUNITY YARD SALE WILL BE HELD AT THE CHRISTIAN LIFE CENTER MAY 6th. Set-up cost is $10 and it is being sponsored by the Columbia Baptist Church Relay for Life Team. Contact Peggy Lawson at 270-384-4501.
