Silent City 2025: Mrs. Mary Triplett Cravens Mrs. Mary Triplett Cravens was devoted to education, campaigned for the first library in Adair County, and was the county's first Bookmobile driver. "A book doesn't care if you are rich or poor, a book doesn't care if you are black or white, a book doesn't care if you are a boy or a girl. All a book cares about is that you open her up and you get lost in her stories. I encourage each of you to find a good quiet place, find you a good book, open it up and get lost in the magic of literature." Mary Triplett Cravens was portrayed in Silent City 2025 by modern day Adair County Librarian LeeAnn Jessee. Many thanks to Danielle Bennett for taking video of this performance at Silent City.
