The Adair County Marching Band traveled to South Laurel High School in London, Kentucky this past weekend to participate in the Kentucky Music Education Association's 2025 Class AAA Regionals-East event, also known as Quarterfinals.

During this event, marching bands only compete against other bands that are in the same class as them and once East and West regionals are completed; only the top 12 bands (six from each region) from each class across the state advance to semi-finals. Results from the East Quarterfinals:

  2. Adair County High School, Columbia (Total: 81.900)

  5. North Oldham High School, Prospect (Total: 76.500)
  6. Boyle County High School, Danville (Total: 75.800)
(top 6 will advance to semi-finals)

As awards were presented, Russell County High School was named Grand Champion and Adair County High School was named Reserve Grand Champion with a two point difference between the two. Both groups were the only two bands out of the twelve participating that received a Distinguished rating which is the highest rating that can be achieved at an event.

This coming Saturday, Adair County will travel to Warren East High School to participate in the Kentucky Music Education's State semi-finals competition and based on placement could potentially advance to State finals later that evening at Western Kentucky University's L.T. Smith Stadium.

CM Note: AAA Competition will kick off at 10:45amCT on October 25, 2025, at Warren East High School, 6867 Louisville Road, Bowling Green, KY. Adair County is scheduled to perform at 11:15amCT, Russell County at 12:30pmCT, followed immediately by Taylor County at 12:45pmCT.

Several area bands will be competing in 1A Semifinals, which will start at 9amCT on October 25, 2025, at Warren Central High School, 559 Morgantown Rd., Bowling Green, KY. Campbellsville High School will compete at 9:45amCT, Green Co. High School at 11amCT, and Metcalfe Co. High School at 11:30amCT. Tickets for the 1A Semis are available separately at gofan.co.

The current week is filled with plenty of practices and activities to prepare for such an advanced competition and celebrate this marching season. If you don't already know, the majority of the students participating in marching band this year are Adair County Middle School students. The group has also secured the title of Reserve Grand Champion at each competition/event that they have attended this season.

CM Note: Six Finalist bands will be chosen from each classification. KMEA State Finals competition will begin at 3:30pmCT on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in L.T. Smith Stadium at Western Kentucky University. Tickets to the finals are available separately through Ticketmaster. Unlike the semis, tickets at LTSS are reserved seating.
