4-H Country Ham Auction will be November 6

The Adair County 4-H Program will be holding its 14th 4-H Country Ham Auction starting at 5:30pmCT on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Adair County Cooperative Extension Service, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY. This year, we have 34 4-H Youth who will be auctioning off country hams produced by the youth as part of their 4-H Country Ham project. Each youth will create a ham gift basket that will be auctioned off along with their ham.

We are looking for people and businesses that would be interested in bidding on and purchasing the ham gift baskets at this year's auction. If you are interested in potentially attending as a buyer, contact Tony Rose at 270-384-2317 or by email at trose@uky.edu.

Proceeds from the ham auction will be divided as follows:
  • 90 percent of the total proceeds will be equally divided between the youth who auction off hams.
  • 10 percent of the total proceeds will go to a Country Ham scholarship. Each year, a graduating senior who participates in the ham project may apply. Up to three $300.00 scholarships will be awarded.
We hope you will help support our local 4-H youth by participating in our 14th 4-H Country Ham auction. Just show up just before 5:30 p.m. on November 6 to participate. Rumor has it that the hams are very tasty this year, so don't miss out.
