2025 Silent City Tour is Oct 13

The annual Silent City walking tour of the Columbia Cemetery will begin at 5pmCT on Monday, October 13, 2025. The weather forecast says clear skies and temperatures in the low 70s at the start. Meet at the Adair Genealogy & History Research Center, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.

The 2025 Silent City presentations will be:
  • William Trabue, 1795-1856, Gentleman Farmer by Michael C. Watson

  • Mary Marshall Paull Todd, 1905-1995, Educator & Mentor by Linda Marcum Waggener

  • Herschel Clay Baker, 1841-1934, Attorney, Judge, Historian by Richard Phelps

  • Sallie A. Baker, 1872-1953 , Daughters of American Revolution by Ernestine Smith Bennett

  • Mary Triplett Cravens, 1892-1982, Librarian by LeeAnn H. Jessee

  • Dr. Samuel Preston Miller, 1864-1936, Physician, by Dave Thomas

  • Annie E. Sandusky Kelsay, 1885-1963, Order of Eastern Star by Annita Dial
Plan to return to the Research Center after the presentations for refreshments and discussion.

Paull family part of 2025 Silent City walk

The Paull family will be among those remembered at Monday evening's Silent City walk through the historic Columbia Cemetery. The life of Mary Marshall Paul Todd is honored, daughter of Thomas and Lena Marcum Paull, whose grave marker is pictured in the front right corner.

The annual event is produced by the Adair County Genealogical Society and the Public Library's Genealogy & History Research Center. For more information, call 270-380-1024. It begins at 5pmCT, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.
