Is 2025 The Year of the Raccoon? The Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center has a tradition of naming years for the species of the first animal patient they treat. They say on a web post, "It's down to chance, or fate, or whatever force is behind cause and effect." Their first patient of 2025 was an orphaned baby raccoon, so 2025 is their year of the raccoon. It seems that it's also been a year of the raccoon in Kentucky, if CM photos are any indication. Some years I rarely see a raccoon, but Summer 2025 seems to have been full of them.
