LWU Volleyball assists with OCC for Malvina Farkle Day

From Mark Fudge

Malvina Farkle Day is an annual celebration of a mythical Lindsey Wilson alumna and staff member who lived a life of service and fun and had a pet opossum. Classes are dismissed for the day so students can spend the morning working on community-service projects. The afternoon includes campus games and activities.

As part of this year's Malvina Farkle day activities, Lindsey Wilson University Volleyball players, coaches and support staff packed Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts at the Columbia Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. National collection week for Operation Christmas Child is coming up November 17–24, 2025.

Note: Lindsey Wilson students and employees are given a special T-shirt commemorating Malvina Farkle Day each year. A design by Camryn Reece '26 of Edmonton was selected in an online vote to grace the front of this year's Malvina Farkle Day T-shirt, seen in the photos with this story.
