Letter: Water taste and smell issue

Bryan New writes:
A few years ago I contacted the water company with the same concern about the water. I was told that it happens at this time of year when the water turns over. I told them I have lived all across Kentucky and in multiple other states and have never encountered this issue before.
The Columbia Magazine Senior Water Tasting Panel has sampled the summertime waters of Bowling Green, Edmonton, Campbellsville, Murray, Louisville, Owensboro, Shelbyville, Russell, and Columbia, and the issue seems to have been a common occurrence in late summer in all the locations that pull water from a reservoir and not a river.
