Volleyball: Lady Indians face Lakers on Monday

By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer

The day after the Tribe knocked off Corbin 3-1 in the first round of the Kentucky 2A State Volleyball Tournament, the Adair County Lady Indians Volleyball team wrapped up tournament play on Saturday, September 13, 2025, with an 0-3 loss to Lexington Catholic, 25-18, 26-24, and 25-16. The Lady Indians battled valiantly against the Lady Knights of Catholic, but ultimately fell to the eventual 2A State Champions. The Lady Knights are 12-0 on the season, and have lost just one set this entire season.

The Lady Indians were led in kills by Junior Olivia Mantooth, with seven, led in digs by Senior Kinzlee Akin, and led in assists by Senior Anslie Spoon. Spoon and Mantooth would be named to the Kentucky 2A Championship all tournament team for their play during the Tribe's time in Owensboro.

The accomplishment of making the 2A for the Lady Indians cannot be understated, but it is also important to remember that the season is only halfway over and Adair County Volleyball has plenty of time to continue to impress us. They are back on the court at 7pmCT on Monday, September 15, 2025 as they go on the road to take on the Russell County Lady Lakers (11-5).
