Garden Tour 2025: the Alley Cat Garden

By Sandy Conover

Alley Cat Garden - A Jane Austen-Inspired Haven is among the five stops on the Outdoor Home and Garden Tour coming up Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 1 to 4pmCT.

Tucked away like a secret chapter from a beloved novel, Alley Cat Garden invites you to wander, sip, and gather amid blooms and bounty. Named in honor of my feline muses, Mr. Knightly and Emma, this English-style garden offers a delightful blend of charm, fragrance, and homegrown goodness.

Stroll down the paved pathway winding through hydrangeas, larkspur, David Austin roses, foxglove, and neatly clipped boxwood, all lovingly arranged to capture the timeless romance of the English countryside.

Step out of the kitchen onto a path leading to a paved patio, the perfect nook for a cup of tea and quiet reflection, just as Jane Austen herself might have enjoyed. Explore my raised vegetable beds and herb garden, where you'll find seasonal produce and fragrant herbs ready for the table. Adjacent to my vegetable beds is the greenhouse where I start early seedlings.

Featuring fresh veggies, aromatic herbs, or cut flowers for your home, Alley Cat Garden offers a lovingly cultivated escape into elegance and simplicity - with a touch of feline mischief.

Visit soon - the garden is always in bloom, and the kettle is never far from the boil.

The 2025 Garden Tour also features:

Outdoor Entertaining at the home of Craig and Stacey Bishop, 186 Briggs Lane, Columbia, KY

Outdoor Entertaining and Gardening at the home of Bruce and Sheila Willis, 1060 Bull Run Road, Columbia, KY
