Baseball: Indians improve to 20-8, face Spartans Monday By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer The ACHS Indians Baseball team currently sits at 20-8 on the season, after a 10-3 win over Somerset and a 1-0 win over Whitley County in the Whitley County Baseball Triangle on Saturday May 10, 2025. In the win over Somerset, Senior Brayton Coomer led the charge from the batters box and from the pitching mound. He started the game pitching by going four innings while giving up just 3 hits and 3 runs, striking out two batters on 67 pitches. On offense, Coomer led the team with two hits, followed by Aiden Smith, Alex Martin, and Brody Brock all with one. Junior Bryce Russell finished the game from the mound, pitching three innings and giving up two hits and no runs, while striking out one batter on 58 pitches. The Tribe will return to the diamond on Monday, May 12, 2025, as they attempt to defend their home field against the South Warren Spartans, (22-7) who the Indians defeated earlier in the season 11-7 on the road.
