CPD: DUI Wanton Endangerment By Officer Adam Cravens, PIO Columbia Police Department The Columbia Police Department initiated a traffic stop early Friday morning, May 9, 2025, near exit ramp 49 on The Cumberland Parkway. After making contact with vehicle operator it was determined she was under the influence, and she was taken into custody. A juvenile passenger in the vehicle was later picked up by a family member. Jessica Smith, 36, of Columbia was charged with multiple driving offenses as well as DUI 1st aggravated circumstances and wanton endangerment 1st degree. Officer Elliot Smith was the arresting Officer. He was assisted by Sgt Jay Wilson and Deputy Nick Barber. This story was posted on 2025-05-09 11:28:02
