Lanterns & Tombstones Tour at Bearwallow was a success Click headline for photos from the Bearwallow tour. Much of Friday, May 2, 2025, was a rainy, dreary, cool day. The Lanterns & Tombstones Tour with Dave Thomas and Mike Watson was scheduled to take place at Bearwallow Cemetery starting at 7pm. We were all doubtful, but hopeful, that the weather would break and the tour could go on. It was long awaited by many. We do not like to cancel our tours until the last minute, on the spot, and only if it is raining or storming. Friday was a typical wait-and-see evening. Folks started coming into the parking lot. The sky still shed drops of cold rain. We waited and by 6:50--normally when we would make the announcement--the drops ceased, or nearly, and the tour went on as planned.
