Connor Loy signs with Jacksonville State University

By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer

Adair County High School Basketball Senior Connor Loy has committed to Jacksonville State University to continue his athletic and academic career.

Loy has over 3,000 career points and is by far the leading scorer in Adair County history. Over his varsity career, he has amassed 128 wins, 2 all state selections, was selected as the 2025 5th region player of the year and KY Mr. Basketball finalist, and was of course a twice region champion.

The Gamecocks of Jacksonville State play at the NCAA Division 1 level in Conference USA. Other members of the conference include Western Kentucky University and Middle Tennessee State University. Connor will join a roster that featured one player from Kentucky last season, Quel'Ron House, a 2024 graduate of Seneca Academy in Louisville. House, a 2024 first team all state selection at Seneca, has left the Gamecocks and entered the transfer portal. Jacksonville State finished last season with a record of 23-13 and they made it to the second round of the National Invitational Tournament (NIT), so Loy will join a program already prepared for success.

I hope everyone in the community will join us at Columbia Magazine in congratulating Connor Loy for his signing and in thanking him for his years of talented play at Adair County.
