Nora Jane Cook, 83, Green County, KY

Nora Jane O'Banion Cook, daughter of the late James A. O'Banion and Othel Robertson O'Banion, was born on Tuesday, September 9, 1941 in Greensburg and departed this life on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 in Greensburg. She was 83 years and 7 months of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, loved sewing, and previously worked at Fruit of the Loom.


She was united in marriage to Woodrow Cook on April 6, 1968, who preceded in her in death on April 12, 2022.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law: Burnestine Cook Benningfield of Elk Horn, Judy Cook of Greensburg; special caregiver and niece: Nancy Ray and her husband, Arvin of Green County; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister: Carolyn Jean Moran.

The funeral service for Nora Jane O'Banion Cook will be conducted at 3pmCT Sunday, April 13, 2025 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in New Salem Cemetery. Bro. Cliffton Sullivan and Bro. Larry Wisdom officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4-8 Saturday and after 7 Sunday until time of the service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the New Salem Cemetery Fund which can be made at the funeral home.

PALLBEARERS: Roger Benningfield, Vernon "Tinker" White, Brian Cook, Cody Bailey, Zac Bailey, Jacob Herbert, Randy Milby, Ronnie Moran, and Clint Moran.
