Ronald W. (Ronnie) Scott, 68, Columbia, KY (1956-2025)

Ronald Wayne "Ronnie" Scott of Columbia passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was 68 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Willard Parson and Bro. Jessie Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the McClister Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday from 3pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue Tuesday until the time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.


He was born in Louisville, KY on December 16, 1956, to the late Timothy Scott and Lucy Smith Scott Yarberry of Columbia who survivors.

Mr. Scott was a member of the New Concord Community Church. Ronnie brought light and love to so many as a loving husband, father, friend and lifelong electrician. He was an avid adventurer and nature lover, he especially enjoyed trips to the mountains.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Norma Jean Corbin Scott of Columbia, KY; two children Leslie Scott Bennett (Craig) and Jeremy Scott (JoAnn) both of Columbia, KY; four grandchildren Aaron Branham, Elijah Bennett, and Jackson Bennett all of Columbia, KY and Caleb Bennett of Fort Thomas, KY; his stepfather Orby Yarberry of Columbia, KY; four siblings Hilda McQueary (Eugene "Bimbo"), L T Scott (Angie), Tony Scott (Reva), and Jimmy Scott (Linda); his mother-in-law Joyce Corbin Fair (Edward); sisters-in-law Josephine Corbin Gadberry and Patricia Corbin Turner (Zeke) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers Tommy and Gary Scott.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Scott, Leslie Bennett, JoAnn Scott, Craig Bennett, Aaron Branham, and Elijah Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackson Bennett, Ronnie Bell, Jason Smith, Barry Smith, Wesley Branham, Terry Patton, Jessie Brown, and Zeke Turner.
