Wayne Radford, 75, Russell County, KY Wayne Radford, of Jamestown, passed from this life Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at VA Medical Center in Lexington. He was 75 years of age. Born September 20, 1949, in Jamestown, he was a son of the late Johnny and Stella Bernard Radford. Wayne was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam war, having proudly served on the USS Independence. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and farm, but he mostly lived for turkey and deer hunting season. Wayne enjoyed growing and selling sweet corn on his farm. This is how he came to meet and know many people. Wayne was of the Pentecostal faith but enjoyed visiting different churches. He most recently attended Pleasant Hill Community Church and Bernard Ridge Church of God. Wayne loved his family and had a special place in his heart for his beagle, Jack. Survivors include his beloved wife, Sandy Stephens Radford, of Jamestown; a son, Jeremy (and Tammy) Radford, of Russell Springs; a daughter, Lori (and James) Gray, of Jamestown; a grandson, Hunter Gray (and Courtney Downey); a granddaughter, Haley (and Collin) Darnell; and mother-in-law, Jean Hubbard, of Russell Springs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Radford. Funeral Services are 1pmCT Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Bernard Ridge Church of God, with Bro. Eric Richardson, Bro. Dennis Price, and Bro. Brayden Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Bernard Ridge Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by the Russell County Honor Guard. Visitation will be after 10am at the church, and continue until time of services. Hunter Gray, Micah Overstreet, Jimmy Overstreet, Roy Back, Steve Vaughan, and Jack Foote will serve as pallbearers. Wayne's friends that he hunted with will be seated at the funeral service as honorary pallbearers. Bernard Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. This story was posted on 2025-04-03 23:56:56
