Zella Mae Monroe, 76, Columbia, KY (1948-2025) Zella Mae Lewis Monroe of Columbia passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at her residence. She was 76 years old. Graveside services will be held at NoonET on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Sand Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, 1616 Harrodsburg Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY, with Bro. Garrett Franklin officiating. She was born on August 4, 1948, in Banner, KY to the late Bascom and Minnie Marie Lewis. She was also preceded in death by her husband Harold Kenneth Monroe, Jr. and two siblings Leona and William Reo Lewis. Mrs. Monroe was a member of the Sand Springs Baptist Church and a former teacher for Anderson County Schools. She was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include three children Amy Monroe (Randy Curry) and Mary Beth Monroe both of Columbia, KY and Harold Kenneth Monroe III (Nickie) of Lawrenceburg, KY; two grandchildren Russell Lewis Curry and Katie Monroe; six siblings Albert Lewis of Columbia, KY, Larry Lewis (Nancy), Charles Lewis (Nancy), Joe Lewis, and Patricia Ratliff (Bob) all of West Liberty, KY and Alice Robinson (Mike) of Hazel Green, KY; several nieces and nephews including a special niece Tasha Reuter and two special nephews Brent Ratliff and Zion Walton. Pallbearers will be Jason Black, Karl Tucker, Zion Walton, Monte Dailey, Brent Ratliff, Randy Curry, and Mike Robinson. Honorary pallbearer will be Doug Padgett. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Green River at 462 North Bypass Campbellsville, KY 42718 or Growing Together Pre-School at 599 Lima Dr. Lexington, KY 40511.
