Hunter Taylor, 24, Cumberland County, KY

Hunter Lee Taylor, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the age of 24 years and 2 weeks. He was born on Tuesday, January 9, 2001 in Lawrenceville, Georgia, the son of Shane & Karen Taylor. The family soon afterwards moved to Marrowbone, Kentucky and lived there until 2017 when they moved to Texas.

He attended Cumberland County High School until moving to Texas where he attended Hayes County High School in Mountain City, Texas where he graduated in 2019.


He was employed at Hurricane Automotive and Diesel Repair in Kyle, Texas where he enjoyed his work and a very close relationship with his employer and co-workers.

He had a passion for classic cars, heavy equipment and outdoor activities, and he was often seen on the San Marcos river rafting and enjoying life. Hunter was baptized into the Christian faith in Marrowbone, Kentucky at the Casey Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he was a member. He was currently attending the Scenic Hills Baptist Church in Oak Hill, Texas. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, LaLonnie Braswell, and aunt & uncle, Amy & Scott Martin.

He is survived by his parents, Shane & Karen Taylor, sister, Makaela Taylor, great-grandmother, Mary Ann Nicholson, grandparents, Thomas Taylor of Texas, Cathy (& Joe) Franklin of Marrowbone, Kentucky, uncle, Jimmy Taylor, aunt, Brittany Taylor, great uncle & aunt, Charles(& Faye) Hill, and Dwight(& Linda) Hill, special cousins, Joey, Nathan Lalanie Martin, Jakob and Josh Taylor, cousins, Tessa Martin, Harrison Asley, Amanda Ashley, and a wealth of friends and other relatives who have all been touched by his short life here.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at 3pmCT in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Barry Craddock officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 9, 2025 beginning at 2. Burial will be in the Davis-Franklin Family Cemetery, in Marrowbone, Kentucky.
