Michael George Kiger, 79, Campbellsville, KY Michael George Kiger of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late James Charles Kiger and Alberta Cecelia Hocker Brown was born on October 10, 1945, and departed this life on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 79 years of age. He professed faith in Christ and attended the Elk Horn Baptist Church. He was a retired center manager at UPS and the former owner and operator of the Lucky Vista Motel. He was very active in the local recovery community and was a sobriety mentor for many. He loved to play Santa Claus and brought much joy to many children. He enjoyed golfing, serving his church, and old classic cars. He liked telling jokes and never met a stranger. In the summer, he loved spending time on his lawn mower cutting the grass. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn "Katy" Kiger, a son: Michael "Zeke" Kiger II, one sister: Ella Marie Mershon, and one brother-in-law: Mike McClure He is survived by two children: Chris Arnett and Heather Kiger Freson. Five grandchildren: Maura "Kiger" Lane, Josh Lane, Samuel Arnett, Bridgette Morris, and Anthony Freson. Seven great-grandchildren: Kathryn Sincerity, Kierre Adream, Kimani Khy'ee, Kionte Joshua, Penny Veda, Joshua Brendon, and Killiqn Ezekiel. Also surviving is one brother: Jim Kiger and his wife Angie. Two sisters-in-law: Cassandra Watson Miller (Tommy) and Nina Watson McClure. A chosen granddaughter: Summer Wallace Marshall, and many other relatives and close friends. There will be a Memorial Service for Michael George Kiger at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Elk Horn Baptist Church in Campbellsville. The family requested visitation at 12:00 P.M. at the Elk Horn Baptist Church. Bro. Haywood Riner and Rev. Brian Rafferty will officiate. There will be a time of food and fellowship after the service in the Worship Activities Center. L.R. Petty Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. This story was posted on 2025-01-09 18:18:59
