Lorene Caudell, 96, Taylor County, KY Lorene McNear Caudell of Campbellsville, KY daughter of the late Theodore Benningfield and Stella Cave Benningfield, was born November 28, 1928. She died Tuesday, December 31, 2024 in Campbellsville at the age of 96. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville First Church of God. Lorene dedicated her life to being a housewife. She loved her family and church family and was an amazing cake decorator. She enjoyed flowers and her independence, taking care of things herself for as long as she was able. Lorene united in marriage to Bro. William Damon McNear March 4, 1950 and he preceded her in death January 20, 1998. She later united in marriage to Herbert Caudell November 9, 2007 and he preceded her in death August 4, 2016. She is survived by one daughter and two sons: Gail Merritt and husband, Gary and Greg McNear and wife, Brenda of Campbellsville and Alan McNear of New York City; three grandchildren: Marty McNear and wife, Stacy, Chris McNear, Jessica Brown and husband, Caleb; four great-grandchildren: Kasey Gribbins, Dallas Gribbins, Malaya McNear and Kaden McNear; one brother and two sisters: Garnett Benningfield and Virginia Borders of Bowling Green and Regina Albright and husband Leon of North Manchester, Indiana; special friend: Carolyn Taylor; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Mcnear and one brother and two sisters: Charles Benningfield, Jane Thompson and Brenda Norman.
