Basketball: Lady Indians win 4th-straight

By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer

On Saturday, December 28, 2024, the Adair County Lady Indians Basketball team defeated the Holy Cross Lady Cougars 52-45 in their second game of the Vanous Lloyd Christmas Classic, played at Dragon Gym on the campus of Warren Central High School in Bowling Green, KY.

The Lady Indians fought hard to a 9-9 tie at the end of the 1st quarter, and then blew the game open during the second quarter with a 19-0 run, ultimately leading to a 28-19 Lady Indians lead at the half. Both teams continued to fight hard, but the Lady Indians simply outmatched the Cougars.

This now marks four straight victories for the team, the longest winning streak since 2015 per KHSAA data. After a slow start to the season, the team now has massive momentum behind them. Saturday's win was particularly special for 8th grader Ella Brown, who celebrated her birthday on game day.

The team returns to action at 2pmCT on Sunday, December 29, 2024, back at Warren Central High School, 559 Morgantown Road, Bowling Green, KY, for a rematch with East Carter, a team they played and defeated two days ago 48-45. Day 3 tickets for the Vanous Lloyd Classic are available through GoFan.
