LWC: Online RN to BSN Program to help area nurses, healthcare organizations By Duane Bonifer, Public Relations Lindsey Wilson College is giving some of the region's nurses an opportunity to climb the career ladder without having to leave their homes. Beginning in fall 2025, Lindsey Wilson will offer an RN to BSN program so that licensed nurses with an associate degree in nursing can earn a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the college in 12 months full time or in 18 months part time. The cost of the fully online program is $306 an hour. "This is the perfect time for Lindsey Wilson to offer this program," said Lindsey Wilson President William T. Luckey Jr. "In addition to giving students who successfully complete this program a boost to their careers, this program also meets an acute need in our region, as well as throughout Kentucky, to have more nurses with a BSN degree working in healthcare." The Lindsey Wilson RN to BSN program will benefit patients, as well as meet a growing demand expressed by healthcare organizations. "Research shows that there is a clear link between a nurse's education level and enhanced patient outcomes," said Lindsey Wilson Director of Nursing Dr. Emiley Button. "There has also been a call among employers for increasing the number of nurses with baccalaureate and higher degrees because it allows healthcare organizations to expand services to patients. Students who graduate from our RN to BSN program will be qualified for BSN generalist practice as well as have the opportunity to receive a certification in their area of specialty." Lindsey Wilson's RN to BSN program is also a natural extension of the college's highly respected baccalaureate nursing program. "Lindsey Wilson nursing students consistently have a very high pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination because they receive a well-rounded, rigorous education from outstanding professors," said Button. "Students who graduate from the RN to BSN program will also receive an excellent education, be prepared to contribute even more to their respective healthcare organization and be poised to be leaders in their profession." For more information about the Lindsey Wilson RN to BSN program, contact Button at buttone@lindsey.edu or call 270-384-7442. This story was posted on 2024-12-16 16:49:10
