David Wayne Scott, 84, Green County, KY

David Wayne Scott of Summersville, Kentucky, son of the late Ervin Moss Scott and Thelma Rafferty Scott, was born on Friday, September 6, 1940 in Green County and departed this life on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 84 years, 2 months, and 21 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, worked as a farmer for many years, and was a retired school bus driver for the Green County School System.


He is survived by his wife: Dorothy I. Noe Scott of Summersville, having united in marriage in February of 1963.

Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Susie Scott Mitchell and Phillip of Summersville; a son: Jerry DeWayne Scott of Summersville.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: Edward Scott and Juanita Hodges.

The funeral services for David Wayne Scott will be conducted at 1pmCT Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Aetna Grove Cemetery. Bro. Dannie Nelson, Bro. Finis Berry, and Bro. Kelvin Edwards officiating.

Visitation is requested after 10amCT, Saturday at the funeral home until time of the service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Aetna Grove Cemetery Fund or the Gideon Bible Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
