James Arlis Sneed, 81, Columbia, KY (1943-2024) The family of James Arlis Sneed is sad to announce his passing on Monday, November 25, 2024. Arlis was born on April 28, 1943 to the late Cecil and Mildred Sneed in Columbia, Kentucky in Adair County. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Barbara. A Celebration of his life will begin at NoonCT on Monday at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Interment will follow at Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia. Visitation will be held from 2pmCT to 6pmCT on Sunday, December 1, 2024, on from 10amCT to NoonCT on Monday, December 2, 2024. Arlis is survived by his daughter, Beckie Kistler (Gene), sons, James (Lisa Bell), and Tim (Kelli). He is also survived by three grandchildren, Leigh Ann Travis, Summer Sneed-Mueller (Derek), Casey Sneed and great-granddaughter, Karleigh Nole. He leaves behind his sister, Judy Higginbotham and her husband, Charles, who was like a brother to him. Their visits truly lifted his spirits. Arlis is also survived by brother-in-law, Larry Richard (Leslie) and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Highbaugh, Rachel Stinson (Tim), and Jeannie Richard as well as several nieces and nephews. Arlis loved his family and was a proud father and grandfather. He was also a proud member of the UAW and worked for Ford Motor Company's Louisville Assembly Plant for 40 years. He loved attending church at Impact Shepherdsville. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
