Home Tour to be held Sunday, December 8

By Richard Swartz

The First Annual Adair County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Home Tour will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 1-4pmCT after a ten year hiatus.

Tammy Stotts and I, along with the Adair County Chamber of Commerce, would like to invite everyone to join us. There will be five beautiful residences on the tour this year.

I have always dreamt of having a home on the tour since moving to Columbia in 2008. The nostalgia of Christmas in Columbia at that time was so warm and inviting when the Adair County Womens Club hosted the event annually.

Many of them were close friends of mine, granted most of them I knew are gone now. I always expressed to them then, how much I would love to have a home here and be a part of the tradition. We would like to create that same nostalgia for all of our residents and local businesses.

We are so grateful to each of them for graciously opening their homes to our community for this fundraiser. Tickets are $10 per person and may be purchased at Southern Nest Realty (Columbia Office), RLS Studio Salon, the Adair County Chamber of Commerce, or at any of the five residences the day of the tour.

At my home, refreshments will be provided for anyone in attendance.

The home of Elliot and Hailey Burton at 135 Kellyville Road, Columbia, is one of five on the Chamber of Commerce home tour Sunday, December 8th, 2024. The Burtons write, "Welcome to our home! Step inside and experience the Christmas magic we've created in a place that has become truly special to us. We purchased this home in 2020 and have loved making it our own. This year, the season feels extra joyful as we celebrate our first Christmas with our baby boy, Gentry. Our home blends traditional Southern style with a touch of grand-millennial flair, creating a cozy yet classic holiday atmosphere. You'll find simple yet tasteful Christmas decor throughout, with each room showcasing its own unique charm. We're delighted to open our doors as part of the 2024 Christmas Home Tour and can't wait to share the warmth and cheer of our holiday haven. Merry Christmas from our family to yours!"
