CACFD report on fatal Bull Run fire From Grant Loy, Public Information Officer Columbia Adair County Fire Department On Sunday, November 24, 2024, the Columbia Adair County Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 00:18 hours to 1776 Bull Run Road on a report of a structure fire that was fully engulfed. The 911 caller was unsure if anyone was at home. Upon arrival, firefighters found a fully engulfed two story structure on fire with three vehicles in the driveway. One of the vehicles was on fire. Firefighters conducted a defensive attack on this fire and kept the fire contained to the original structure. Once the fire was cooled down, and having communicated with family and neighbors in the area, it was determined that there were two people unaccounted for. Firefighters completed an extensive overhaul on the home and located two bodies within the home. While on scene, one firefighter was injured. The firefighter was transported by Adair County EMS to TJ Health Columbia for non life threatening injuries. The firefighter has since been released from the hospital. There were a total of 17 firefighters on scene for approximately 5 hours, before the scene was turned over to The Adair County Coroner's Office. Mutual aid was provided by the Breeding Fire Department. Agencies that assisted included: Adair County E911 Center, Adair County Ambulance Service, Adair County Sheriff's Office, Adair County Coroner's Office, Adair County Fire/EMS Chaplain, and Taylor County RECC.
