Bro. Rocky Morrison, 75, Columbia, KY (1949-2024)

Bro. Rocky Morrison of Columbia died on Thursday, November 21, 2024 as the result of an accident on Highway 70 in Taylor County. He was 75 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 11amCT on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jason Dickey, Bro. Rusty Brown and Bro. Jack Srygler officiating. Burial will follow in Morrison Family Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 4pmCT on Monday.


He was born August 11, 1949, in the Chance community, to the late Refus and Geneva Lewis Morrison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Austin Bryant.

Bro. Morrison was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Hart County and currently serving as Pastor of Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church in Hardin County and Fallen Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Hart County. He was a driver for Froedge Trucking, a farmer, avid hunter, gun collector and loved his family and friends.

Survivors include:
  • His wife - Sharon Akin Morrison of Columbia
  • One son - Chad Morrison (Angie) of Columbia
  • One daughter - Robin Branham (Wesley) of Columbia
  • One brother - Billy Morrison (Joyce) of Columbia
  • Five grandchildren - Riley Bryant (Abbie), Katelyn Morrison, Emilee Morrison, Jessica Murphy (Kaine) and Aaron Branham
  • Two great-grandchildren - Lindi Bryant and Laney Bryant
Casket Bearers: Riley Bryant, Daniel Froedge, Wesley Branham, Chris Coomer, Tommy Colvin, Hassan Curtis

Honorary: Kaine Murphy, Ethan Curtis, Aaron Branham, Carson Lewis, Ricky Shelton, Robbie Shelton, Randolph Lewis, Doug Lewis
