Two dead in Saturday night Adair fire

Around bedtime Saturday evening and on into the late hours of November 23, 2024, sirens wailed one after the other. The sounds centered around the Adair County Volunteer Fire Department in Columbia and could be heard fading into the distance.

Their destination was Bull Run Road in the curve near where the smaller Bull Run Lane goes off.

Sunday morning embers of the destroyed home were still smoldering and the initial report is that two lives were lost in the fire. The coroner said names will not be given out until the bodies, one male, one female, are officially identified. We will have more information as it is available.
