Daniel G. Spieker, 81, Columbia, KY (1943-2024) Daniel George "Danny" Spieker of Nancy, KY and formerly of Columbia, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, at the Russell County Hospital. He was 81 years old. Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. Burial will follow in the White Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday after 10amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born in Salem, IN to the late Egbert Hubert and Janet Ruth Phillips Spieker. He was preceded in death by his first wife Linda Key Spieker in 2012. Mr. Spieker was a member of the Jabez Missionary Church of God and enjoyed riding motorcycles, metal detecting and shooting target practice. Survivors include his wife Carol Lee Gilbert Spieker of Nancy, KY; two daughters Jennifer Ann Richardson and Kimberly Dawn Vargas; six grandchildren Sarah Jewel-Rene Richardson, Danielle Adrianna Bonatesta, Naomi Dawn Richardson, Veronica Ann Vargas, Blanca Estrella Vargas and Fred Vargas; a great granddaughter Rosa Glenda Clark; three stepdaughters Laurel Jones, Jan Wray and Vanessa Lynn Lammers; a step great-grandson Drew Crowe; three siblings Janet Spieker, Michael Spieker, and John Spieker; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by a sister Kathy Spieker and a brother Dale Spieker. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
