Indians basketball in top CJ preseason rankings

The Louisville Courier Journal put out their preseason top 25 for the 2024-25 KHSAA Boys Basketball season this week. Adair County came in ranked at #7, their highest preseason ranking this century.

The poll lists Great Crossing High School, defending state semifinalist at #1, last year state runner up, Harlan County at #23, last years other semifinalist, Evangel Christian at #24, defending state champion Lyon County is unranked.


The Indians play several ranked on ranked matchups this season, #13 Bowling Green at Barren County December 14th, prior mentioned #24 Evangel Christian February 3rd at Lindsey Wilson, and #20 Warren Central February 11th at home.

The team is also likely to face ranked opponents at King of the Bluegrass in December as that field of 16 teams holds 9 ranked teams.

No other 5th region team is ranked in the poll besides the Indians.
