ACHS ends best football season in history By Trey Stephens, Columbia Magazine Staff Writer The Adair County Indians went on the road Friday night to face the Braves of Union County in the second round of the Class 3A 2024 UK HealthCare Sports Medicine Football Finals and fell 17-6 in a game that was marked by poor offensive production. The Indians struggled to move the ball on the ground, with just 26 rushing yards on 13 attempts. The pass game struggled as well, with frequent drops which compounded to completion on just 10 of 26 pass attempts. The lone touchdown of the night was on a trick play pass by Lane Grant which went for 82 to Solomon Stonebraker. Thanks in large part to that 82 yard reception, Solomon Stonebraker was the team's leading receiver with 3 receptions for 96 yards. Stonebraker did join in on the defensive side of the ball as well with one of the team's two fumble recoveries. The other was made by Ryder Rodgers. The defense was led in tackling by Aiden Smith with 16 followed by Rodgers with 11. All in all, this was undoubtedly not where we wanted the season to end, however this season should not be remembered for this game alone, but for the incredible accomplishment of all 12 games! This was one of the most successful seasons in Adair County football history, this team notched 10 wins for the first time since 2015, and tied for the furthest the Indians have gone in the playoffs since the 6 class system began.
