Hugh Thomas (Tommy) Edwards, 63, Columbia, KY (1961-2024) Hugh Thomas "Tommy" Edwards, 63, of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, at his residence surround by his family. The family honored Tommy's wishes of cremation, and there will be a memorial service at 1pmCT on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. A memorial visitation will be held from 11amCT until 1pmCT on Tuesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born in Lebanon, KY on November 8, 1961, to the late Hubert and Billie Jo Miller Edwards. Tommy was of the Christian faith, worked for Egypt Construction and farmed. He was an avid sports fan and at the age of 10 years old competed and won the Kentucky State Pitch, Hit and Throw competition. He enjoyed dirt racing, riding his Harley, and vacationing anywhere near the water, but what he enjoyed the most was being a devoted husband and father and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife Lisa Burris Edwards of Columbia, KY; two daughters Lori Gabbert (Cody) of Sparksville, KY and Barkley Tupman (Nick) of Chance, KY; three grandchildren Harper and Aslynn Gabbert, Felix Tupman and one on the way; a sister Sara Corbin of Columbia, KY; a special brother-in-law Rodney Burris (Cathy) of Prospect, KY and several other friends and relatives. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Margaret Blackwell. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Hosparus Health Green River.
