ACHS Football dominant in win over McLean Co. By Trey Stephens Columbia Magazine Sports Writer On Friday night, November 8, 2024, the Adair County High School Indians defeated McLean County 41-0 in the first round of the 2024 3A UK HealthCare Sports Medicine State Football Finals, held at Adair County. The game was a complete win for the Indians on both sides of the ball. This was a stellar performance for the Indians and marks the first time the team has made it to the second round of the playoffs since 2016. The second round game will be held at 7pmCT on Friday, November 15, 2024, where Adair County (10-1) will face Union County (9-2) on the road in Union County. Ticket information for Friday's game will be released later this week. Against McLean County, the team passed for nearly 200 yards, repeatedly stretching the field with deep passes, as Quarterback Easton Jessie went 7/8 for 199 yards and 2 touchdowns. The rush attack went for 159 yards led by Lane grant who rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries. The leading receiver was Solomon Stonebraker who had 99 yards and a touchdown on 3 catches. The defense limited an explosive rushing attack to just 75 yards along with keeping the Cougars off the board. The defense was highlighted by Lane Grant's pick 6. The Indians defense was also in the Cougar backfield often, recording 7 tackles for loss on the evening.
