Football Friday night opens postseason play

By Trey Stephens, Columbia Magazine Sports Writer

Adair County High School Football will open up their postseason play at home against McLean County Friday night, November 8, 2024.

The Cougars come in with a record of 7-3, and on a 4 game win streak capped off with a 30-14 win over Marshall County. In that game, McLean completed just one pass and rushed the ball 48 times.

Those rushes combined for a total 371 yards and 3 touchdowns. The largest Cougar contributor was Aden Bolden who put in 231 of those yards and 2 touchdowns.

Per KHSAA data, Bolden has rushed for over 1400 yards this season for McLean county, so limiting his production will be a key part in what the Indians need to accomplish to win.

In the same Marshall game, the Cougar defense limited the Marshall County attack to 88 rushing yards and 143 passing yards, they also sacked the Marshall County Quarterback 5 times.

McLean County does, however, lack any notable wins on the season as they failed to beat a team with an over .500 end of season record all year, losing to all three they faced.

Looking inwardly, this is the first game in what could be a deep playoff run for the Indians, but it all starts here, come out and support your Adair County Team!
