LWC: 22nd-Annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon on Monday The Lindsey Wilson College community will hold its 22nd Annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon at 11:30amCT on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the VFW Post 6097, 500 Greenhills Drive, Columbia, KY. The luncheon is free and open to all area veterans and their spouses. Guests are asked to RSVP by contacting LWC Office of Student Services at studentservices@lindsey.edu or 270-384-8036. A special recognition ceremony will be held for Columbia Walmart and the Academy Team. For the third consecutive year, the Columbia Quilt Guild will honor attending veterans by donating handmade patriotic quilts through a special drawing. The meal will be prepared by the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center. Lindsey Wilson College students and staff will be on hand to serve the meal. "What began as a small gathering 22 years ago has grown to welcome over 150 local veterans and their families," said Chris Schmidt, LWC Dean of Students and event coordinator. "This is one of the most meaningful days of the year for LWC. It gives our College community a chance to express our gratitude and honor the service and sacrifice of our local veterans. We're proud that it has become a cherished annual tradition for the community." The luncheon started in 2003 as part of the college's centennial celebrations. It is coordinated by LWC's Office of Student Services. This story was posted on 2024-11-07 20:17:12
