Extension Program on Managing Newly Purchased Feeder Calves

There will be a program on managing newly purchased feeder calves for improved immunity starting at 6pmCT on Thursday, November 14, 2024, in the Russell County Schools Auditorium. Those interested must call the Russell County Extension Office at 270-866-4477 to register.

The program includes a break for a meal and a sponsor presentation, and will adjourn at 8:30pmCT after a short program evaluation:


  • 6pmCT - 6:45pmCT Delaying vaccination on high-risk feeder calves, presented by Dr. John Richeson, West Texas A&M
  • 6:45pmCT - 7pmCT Sponsor Continental Refining Company, Somerset, KY
  • 7pmCT - 7:30pmCT Meal
  • 7:30pmCT - 8:15pmCT Methods to reduce stress throughout the feeder calf marketing process, preesnted by Dr. John Richeson, West Texas A&M
  • 8:15pmCT Program Evaluation
  • 8:30pmCT Adjourn
